Allens, Inc.

Allens, Inc.

Allens, Inc.

Siloam Springs, Arkansas

History:

Allens, Inc., a family-owned and operated vegetable processor, remains focused on the same core values that were set when the company was founded. Allens, Inc. began as Allen Canning Company in 1926 near Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Earl Allen started the company and helped it survive The Great Depression and severe droughts of the 1930s. Earl's son Delbert took over leadership in the forties and helped to expand production while providing canned vegetables to our troops during World War II. The growth and expansion continued as more items were added to Allens' product line and state of the art facilities enhanced productivity. During the seventies, growth allowed for the purchase of other companies and brands like Popeye Brand Spinach. Allen Canning continued to increase their market share and began packing larger institutional sized cans in the 1980s. In 1988, Roderick Allen, current owner and CEO, took over leadership responsibilities from his father. During Rick's tenure, the company has continued to expand through the acquisitions of Trappeys, Princella, Veg-All, Freshlike, and New Harvest Foods. In 2006, with the acquisition of Flint River Foods and the non-branded frozen vegetable division of Birdseye Foods, Allen Canning Company became Allens, Inc. The Allens' family tradition continues under the leadership of Rick Allen, CEO, and his sons, Josh Allen and Nick Allen, who are currently serving as Executive Vice Presidents and working to lead Allens, Inc. into the future.

Mission:

Allens' continuing mission is to provide quality foods and services to its many customers. The combined forces of the frozen food and canning industries have made Allens, Inc. more versatile in meeting customers' needs and expectations. A wide variety of quality food products, dedicated hard-working employees, and continued reinvestment into the company have energized Allens' growth to become the company we are today. Allens, Inc. now operates thirteen vegetable processing facilities and several distribution centers in Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, North Carolina, New York, and Wisconsin. We are one of the largest privately held vegetable processing companies in the nation. For generations, Allens, Inc. has been providing quality affordable food to America's families, and it has become a brand trusted by millions. To Allens, Inc., every product with the Allens logo is something that we should be proud of. We are a company with a vision to become the highest quality, low cost producer of processed vegetables in the world.
