The Kansas State University Foundation is a non-profit educational corporation, established in 1944 to encourage private support for the University's benefit. The Foundation is chartered by the State of Kansas and is designated as the official fund-raising arm of the University.
The Foundation's Board of Trustees and Executive Committee provide oversight of more than 80 Foundation employees, who are committed to implementing the policies that enable the Foundation to receive, disburse and/or invest gifts from donors for maximum benefit to Kansas State University.
The Foundation currently manages more than 4,000 individual accounts, and is a duly designated 501C(3) organization with appropriate approval from the Internal Revenue Service to issue tax deductible receipts for private gifts received to support K-State. Gifts to the Foundation for use by the University may be either "restricted," used for those purposes specified by the donor, or "unrestricted," with no specific purpose attached to the gift.
Mission:
The Kansas State University Foundation encourages and prudently manages private gifts donated for the benefit of Kansas State University. These gifts enhance appropriate levels of state support by developing beneficial partnerships among alumni, friends and the campus community to achieve University goals.
