About Mary Greeley Medical Center
Mary Greeley Medical Center, 1111 Duff Avenue, Ames, Iowa, is a 220-bed regional referral center. Founded in 1916 to serve the community of Ames, it now serves an 18-county area in central and north central Iowa.
The medical center is known for its excellence of care and its cost effectiveness. It has earned this standing due to the dedication and abilities of its 1,340 employees, its medical staff of approximately 120 physicians in 26 specialties and subspecialties, and its nearly 1,000 volunteers.
Among the medical center's services are a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency room, a paramedic ambulance service, the Birthways obstetrical program, the Mary Greeley Rehabilitation Center, a multi-faceted cardiology program, an orthopedic and sports physical therapy center, HOMEWARD home health and public health services, and many others.
In combination with McFarland Clinic, Mary Greeley offers services through the Bliss Cancer Center and Occupational HealthWorks. The medical center also provides a wide variety of classes, support groups, screenings, and other wellness programs, many of them free or at nominal cost. New at Mary Greeley is Prime Time Alive, a membership program for people age 50 and over.
As a convenience for patients and visitors, the medical center provides valet parking and a parking ramp, both free.
