Company Profile:
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit coalition of more than 1,000 businesses who employ more than 340,000 people in the State.
A 58-member Board of Directors representing businesses of every type and size around the State and a 14-member full-time staff work for your benefit to address business interests and concerns.
As the voice of business in the State, the Maryland Chamber represents business interests in Annapolis. During each General Assembly session, the Chamber's full-time lobbying team tracks and promotes issues important to business. Legislative alerts provide members with updated reports on these issues as well as email and fax response mechanisms for appropriate legislators.
The Chamber works year-round to promote issues that are important to Maryland's business community. Issues such as transportation, unemployment insurance, health care cost containment, environmental regulations and taxes are discussed within special task forces off session to better prepare the Chamber's Legislative Committee, Board of Directors and staff for the next year's session. A Business Agenda is developed prior to the session to identify the Chamber's top legislative goals for the upcoming session.
