Russell Child Development Center
Russell Child Development Center
Russell Child Development Center began in 1965 with the organization of a day care for children with developmental delays. In 1976 the program began serving preschool children. Therapists, more teachers, and more paraprofessionals were added because the need was so great. Currently, Russell Child Development serves 12 southwest Kansas Counties with early intervention services for infants and toddlers. Free screenings and evaluations are provided to families with concerns about their infant or young child's development. Screenings and comprehensive evaluations take place in a natural setting such as in the child's home or community. Services provided for eligible children include: physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, early childhood education, feeding and nutrition, hearing and vision, social work, assistive technology and family service coordination.
All services are provided to the families at no charge. Russell Child Development works with the whole family to incorporate effective strategies into their daily routines.
