Affinity Consulting Group, Inc. - A leading provider of Nationwide Direct Hire Professional level Recruiting and Staffing Services is looking for a SCM Engineer (RFID) for one of our clients located in Holtsville, NY
Salary:
$55,000 – $75,000k annually + Benefits
Summary:
The SCM Engineer is responsible for daily builds, and configuration and release management of various software releases. This includes developing and maintaining automated build scripts, troubleshooting build issues, and administration and maintenance of source control
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordination of the daily build process across development sites globally
• Insure that software builds are executed and made available in a timely fashion
• Maintenance and enhancement of automated build scripts
• Optimization of build processes to increase build efficiency
• Maintenance and support of the Configuration Management System(s)
• Maintenance of the various product code branches including change management of the code base
• Administration of the hardware and software systems required to support the builds
• Develop InstallShield programs for Software Development Kits and other applications
• Insure that materials related to a released build are properly archived
• Documentation of build instructions and processes as they relate to specific projects
• Uphold and ensure compliance to company-wide open source policies
• Evaluate and select tools to support and improve SCM processes
• Exercise continuous improvement to identify opportunities to gain efficiency
• Help develop strategies for process improvements
Skills and Education Required:
• Knowledge of at least two of the following source code management systems: ClearCase, PVCS, Perforce, CVS, or VSS. Experience with ClearCase is preferred
• Knowledge of at least one Process & Issue Management solution like ClearQuest, TeamTrack, DevTrack, Bugzilla, or Jira. Knowledge of ClearQuest is preferred
• Knowledge of InstallShield. Ability to create script driven packages is essential.
• Knowledge of virtual infrastructure- VMWare concept.
• Knowledge of a Software Quality and Security Solution, for example Klocwork, is a plus
• Knowledge of the Windows operating systems and administration
• Proficiency with Windows software development environments
• Programming skills with a wide variety of programming languages including scripting languages (Perl, Python), C/C++, Visual Studio.Net, VB Script, Java
• Strong communication and coordination skills enabling this person to work successfully with a variety of teams
• Proven performance in working with teams of engineers in various stages of development
• Strong attention to detail
• Proven knowledge of best practices in software development lifecycle
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of experience in software development
• Experience in the Software Configuration Management field or knowledge of two or more of the following systems: ClearCase or PVCS or Perforce or CVS or VSS
