Job Description:

Faced with the challenge created by American industrial facilities generating and disposing of approximately 7.6 billion tons of industrial waste each year, we are redoubling our efforts to help our clients adhere to the four R’s of sound waste policy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Respond.
Advanced Recycling Technology is looking for a uniquely qualified individual to plan, implement, check and act upon the environmental management of recycling manufacturing facility in manner that well exceeds compliance. The Environmental Technician will work with the company’s environmental team to execute an ambitious environmental plan with specific criteria that are used to establish short, medium and long-term goals. The objective will be the continual improvement of the company’s performance of environmental according to these criteria. In addition, the candidate will work with management to enable environmental management to be used as a key resource in strengthening the company’s culture and bottom line internally, as well as its reputation and image to its external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Provide proactive environmental leadership for Advanced Recycling Technology Inc
Work with the environmental management team in the establishment of environmental systems according to ISO or other applicable standards.
The candidate will work with the environmental team to ensure compliance of plant operations with governmental regulatory agency requirements relating to environmental management. This will include daily environmental inspections. The candidate will work with management to develop long-term environmental goals for the company. The candidate will work with management to budget, staff and implement environmental continual improvement.
Insure that quality control the company’s inventory is up to date and in compliance with regulations on a daily basis
Keep track of company environmental records or insures that company staff is doing so.
Insure that engineering plans for new processes are in line with the overall environmental procedures and goals of the company.
Maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on hazardous materials
Work with environmental and legal team in making modifications to existing permits to reflect changes in operations
Utilize leadership skills to engage various plant teams and other plant personnel to increasing levels of environmental performance.
Planning and coordination of environmental training. Record keeping.
Facilitation of environmental audits of the company by its stakeholders
Auditing environmental procedures of company stakeholders
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience in the environmental field.
BS Degree in Environmental Science, Metallurgy, Environmental Engineering or a related field
Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations with regard to environmental compliance
Computer literate.
Mechanical and engineering aptitude
Strong verbal and written communication skill; positive influencing skills in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and achieve results in a team environment.
Demonstrated Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks. Technical knowledge of environmental and safety regulations
Desired:
Knowledge and experience in metal recycling or a related field
Proficient communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
