Position Summary
Responsible for analysis, design, implementation, education and support of assigned clinical application software. Through familiarity with the function and process of the departments, the clinical systems analyst will analyze, design, implement, educate, and assist the customer department with the use of the clinical systems at Boulder Community Hospital, while working to maintain and/or improve patient safety and clinical workflow. Serves as a physician relation liaison. Moderate report writing. Exempt position. Non-supervisory. Clinical systems supported include: Meditech Radiology, Community Wide Scheduling, MIS Clinical Dictionaries related to supported clinical modules, and other clinical/ancillary systems as assigned. Must have or develop a working knowledge of the Meditech Admissions, Order Management, Patient Care Inquiry, Operating Room Management, and Billing/Accounts Receivable applications to adequately support the customer departments.
Job Qualifications
Education or Formal Training
Bachelor of Science in Business, Information Technology or other related field.
Special Qualifications (licensure, registration, etc.)
The candidate must be currently certified or licensed as an allied health professional.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Effective negotiator and consensus builder - able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
3. General knowledge of hospital departments operations.
4. Knowledge of general principles of information systems and computer usage.
5. Analytical ability to evaluate systems, test data and/or program logic, and determine proper program execution.
6. Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts and solve problems related to computer systems/software.
7. Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and meet established deadlines
8. Ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of patient electronic protected health information (ePHI) and departmental documents
Experience
1. Two years clinical experience is required
2. Previous experience using computer tools in a clinical setting is required.
3. Previous experience with clinical assessment, planning, protocol development, standards, clinical pathways, policies and procedures preferred
4. One (1) year experience in implementing clinical information systems preferred.
5. Previous teaching and project management experience preferred.

Working Environment/Physical Activities
1. A tolerance to working in a fast paced work environment. This position requires quick thinking and problem solving skills.
2. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and manipulate forty (40) pounds on foot for several minutes. Manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination to work with small computer parts. Sensory requirements include visual acuity capable of reading monitors, reports, and hardware displays and audio acuity capable of telephone use and detecting audio alarm systems.
3. Work with an open mind as a team member with other departments to come up with the best possible solutions for BCH to system-wide problems.
4. May have to travel to other facilities or campuses.
