Job Summary:
CETCON, A Combustion and Environmental Testing Consultants, a leader in the specialized field of air quality testing, combustion consulting, and fired heater operator training has an immediate opening available for a Gas Chromatography Chemist. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn a highly specialized trade in the growing environmental air testing industry with an excellent opportunity for advancement while working for consultants who are recognized throughout the industry. Candidate will be part of a team of environmental professionals that conduct air emission tests on emission sources located at refineries, natural gas transportation facilities, electric utilities, pulp & paper mills as well as many other chemical related facilities.
Qualifications: The candidate must have three to five years Reference Method 18 Gas Chromatography (GC) experience for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOC's) by EPA, ASTM and other methodologies. The GCs are located in a mobile testing laboratory, which allows our company to provide results in the field. The candidate must be capable of calibrations, calculations, troubleshooting and repairing equipment in the field, supervising test crew, communicating directly with clients and regulatory officials, preparing written and test plans and manage projects through completion, including report generation and invoicing. The candidate would also be responsible for ordering calibration standards and be directly involved with the future growth of this business while exercising independent judgment and discretion, as work will be preformed under general supervision from management personnel. Substantial overnight travel and field work is required. Company is based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma with the majority of the work performed in a 500-mile radius of Tulsa. Chemistry, mechanical, instrumentation or combustion related experience and/or education is also desired.
