Job Summary:
Responsible for the coordination of staff scheduling, operations, staff orientation/staff development, program development, and coordination of clinical aspects of care for outpatients of The Center for Wound Healing. Coordinates interdisciplinary functions to insure appropriate clinical interventions, utilization review and performance improvement activities for the wound center. Job has direct responsibility for supervision of a department. Provides hands-on training, coordinates staffing and workload, and coaches/counsels employees. Hires and is responsible for all performance reviews and disciplinary actions for supervised employees. The job duties are to provide direct patient care, and/or to develop a therapeutic program for patients. Innovations improve work procedures and methods and primarily result in some time and cost savings. Serves as a clinical resource to staff of The Center for Wound Healing. Work requires internal contacts outside the work group to resolve mutual problems and to collaborate on work procedures. Responsible for ensuring that satisfaction and service with internal contacts is maintained. Contact with external contacts is for ongoing service, handling of routing transactions and providing detailed information about a selected service or capability. Interactions include resolving complaints, resolving billing inquiries, making adjustments or correcting mistakes about a selected service or capability.
REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years experience in direct patient care, either inpatient or outpatient with at least two (2) years of wound care experience. Is a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing. Maintains current licensure as a registered nurse by the State of Maryland. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience required, MS preferred. Maintains active CWS or WOCN certification. Two years supervisory experience preferred. Debridement experience preferred, but at least, will pass competency to debride within one (1) year of being in the position. Knowledge of managed care environment is desirable. Well organized and wide base knowledge of wound care. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Maryland. Certification: WOCN or CWS. Must maintain current CPR certification.
