CLIMATE:
Very moderate. We enjoy the four seasons yet little rainfall. We receive an annual rainfall of 19 inches.
PRACTICE TYPE:
Join a primary group of 14 physicians and 3 NPs. The staff is sound and the staff to physician ratio is based on productivity. (1.0-3.0 medical assistants per physician). The clinic has a full service radiology (CT, XRay, US) and lab facility as well as a high staffing ratio to support maximum productivity. The physicians see about 25 patients per day. The clinic is entirely paperless and they use GE, Med-Logic/Logician. The payor mix is 50% commercial, 40% Medicaid/Medicare and 10% other.
AGREEMENT CONTRACT TYPE:
Employment agreement. The work schedule is very flexible and they are open to part-time and full-time situations.
INCOME EXPECTATION:
$140,000 with a sign on bonus and relocation. After the first year the income is linked to productivity. Full-time physicians make 175K-225K.
CALL SCHEDULE:
There is no call schedule as the hospitals have hospitalists who manage their hospitalized patients.
GROUP PERSONALITIES:
This is a very collegial, entrepreneurial and aggressive group. They consider themselves cutting edge. They are open to new ideas, have plans for expansion and conduct clinical research. The ideal candidate will be willing to enter into an employment agreement. They are looking for collaborative physicians who will be well liked by their patients and employees. A positive attitude is a plus.
HOSPITAL INFORMATION:
The clinic is located on the regional medical center campus. Most of their patients are seen at this hospital although there is another hospital within just a few miles. The hospital has a fabulous reputation and is a premier site, just recently being named as a Top 100 Heart hospital by Solucient. The hospital has embarked on an initiative with the community physicians to help them add physicians. They work in close collaboration with this clinic.
