Job Duties:
The Director is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Surgical Services on a 24-hour basis. It is the role of the Director to create a safe environment for the patient and the staff. The Director needs to encourage the nurses to be autonomous and empowered decision makers. It is the role of the Director to create an environment conducive to practicing humanistic care and understands and supports the Planetree philosophy of patient centered care.
Department Information:
Supervise the ED departments in a 167 bed and 48-bed hospital. ED volumes are 33,000 and 9500, with 35 employees in the larger department and 18 in the smaller one.
Education Requirement:
* Baccalaureate in Nursing, Health Science, Education or Business.
* Current Oregon licensure as a Registered Nurse (or eligible to obtain one.)
* Five years nursing experience, 3-5 in management in association with the Emergency Department.
* BLS required.
* ACLS preferred.
