Position Description



We are currently looking to fill a Project Manager position located at our Shaftsbury, VT plant.

The Project Manager (PM) serves as the primary company representative on all assigned projects and assumes overall responsibility for project completion within its allotted time and budget. The PM leads, guides and coordinates all internal project team activities and works with the following external team members to ensure a successful project: Owner's representatives, Architects, Engineers, General Contractor's Project Manager and Superintendent, Subcontractors and others as may be assigned.

The success of projects is tied to the skills of the project manager. This role performs the planning and implementation of projects and provides the drive for the timely completion of projects. This position handles more complex projects, larger projects and sometimes multiple projects.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate: excellent inter-personal skills and decision-making abilities, strong communication, organizational and documentation skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments and meeting established deadlines An engineering degree or experience working in the construction industry is preferred. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Prepares Macro & Micro schedules or project plans. Performs all activities necessary to progress projects according to plan.
  • Prepares and supervises implementation of project data submittal, material delivery and close out schedules, punch list process, all certifications including inspections, resolution of changes and change orders.
  • Establishes and maintains updated project records, logs and files.
  • Assure timely review and update of project records/logs, including those covering submittals, RFIs, job meetings and subcontractor meetings.
  • Coordinates special materials purchasing and scheduling.
  • Supervision of Site Inspectors and Detailers. May instruct and mentor Project Manager I level jobs.
  • Provides timely project updates to Management.

Position Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:
  • A four year college degree or its equivalent is preferred.
  • Five or more years of experience in this role or a similar role in construction management.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and decision making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Organizational and Documentation skills.
  • Initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meeting established deadlines.
  • Travel would be primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected to visit job sites and/or Customers.

  • Be able to lift and carry in excess of 50lbs.
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Must be computer literate and comfortable using word, excel and email.
