PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Present psychoeducational curriculum to clients as scheduled; subject matter may include Substance Abuse, Criminal Thinking, Anger Management and related topics as outlined in the curriculum manual
  • Facilitate process/discussion groups regarding material covered in groups as listed above
  • Provide individual counseling as needed
  • Complete assessments, intakes, client schedules, treatment plans, periodic reviews and aftercare plans in timely fashion
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of services delivered, including case management service and group participation, as instructed by your supervisor
  • Participate in all staff meetings and staff supervision
  • Participate in all clinical discussions regarding client progress, as directed by your supervisor
  • Maintain knowledge of community-based resources and complete referrals as needed
  • Pursue professional development and maintain accurate CEUs
  • Attend required meetings at your site
  • Learn and demonstrate respect for the roles of the other agencies (Sheriff's Department, Parole, Probation, Office of Community Corrections, etc.) at your site; daily interaction with these agencies allows for comprehensive treatment of clients
  • Respect boundaries between treatment and security
  • Treat all clients with dignity and respect
  • Other tasks that will contribute to the quality of services provided by BSCS

Female Offender Specialist Substance Abuse Clinician Specific Responsibilities

  • Provide gender-responsive services to female clients
  • Work with community-based resources to identify potential referrals for gender-responsive services, including a working relationship with a local domestic violence agency to provide Victims of Violence groups to female clients

OTHER RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Requires evening availability two nights per week
  • Comply with BSCS's policies around attendance and time management
  • Pursue certifications thatimproveyour stature skills
    • Participate in regularly scheduled supervision and be open to supervisor feedback
    • Actively participate in annual performance evaluation process
  • Attend all required trainings within the specified time frame
  • Mandated reporting of abuse and neglect
  • Ability to adhere to agency Confidentiality Policy
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Travels and is exposed to varying weather conditions
  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, reaches, and moves intermittently during business hours
  • Works in office areas as well as throughout the facility
  • Requires repetitive movement, fine motor skills
  • Normally well-lit confidential office environment with little to no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, etc
  • May be required to attend community events outside of normal hours of operation
.Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS (Education and Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology, Education, Counseling, Psychology, Rehabilitative Counseling or Social Work required
  • Minimum of 2 years supervised counseling required
  • CADAC, SAS, LADC, or Substance Abuse counseling licensure preferred
  • CADAC, SAS or Substance Abuse treatment experience is a minimum requirement
  • Clinicians who do not have a college degree and/or a CADAC are expected to be actively pursuing this level of professional development
  • Valid MA driver's license with acceptable driving record and current proof of insurance
  • Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
