Engineer - Environmental Benzene

Description
The Orange facility is a world class manufacturing facility providing chemical intermediates for the manufacture of Nylon-6,6. The Nylon Intermediates facilities consist of adiponitrile, adipic acid, and hexamethylenediamine products.
We are currently seeking an environmental engineer with primary responsibility as the environmental compliance system owner for Benzene NESHAP - National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants.
Responsibilities include environmental communication, constraint development, change management, compliance assurance, training, and incident management.
Responsibilities generally include:
• Environmental program Compliance System Owner (CSO.
• Conduct all business in accordance with INVISTA MBM® Guiding Principles and the Employee Code of Conduct.
• Serve as the single point of contact for communication and technical support on the Compliance System Owner CSO program
• Participate in the development of environmental constraints during the negotiation of permits, regulations, orders and other legal obligations.
• Have an understanding and working knowledge of the processes and equipment subject to Benzene NESHAP (National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants).
• Provide documentation of facility specific compliance requirements.
• Identify training required for the program and work to help implement training to operations.
• Assist with release calculations and Reportable Quantity (RQ)determinations as required.
Education Required:
- B.S. Degree in Engineering or
- B. S. Degree in Environmental Science or similar field
Experience & Skills Required:
- Experience in managing compliance for air sources, including documenting regulatory applicability determinations, verifying process streams, understanding mitigation and controls devices, performing emissions monitoring, and calculating air emissions.
- Knowledge and experience with specific air regulations, including Benzene NESHAP (National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants).
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Ability to learn Microsoft Access
- Good communication skills (Oral and Written)
- Ability to work in a team environment
Experience & Skills Preferred:
- Petrochemical or refining process experience
- Working knowledge of Hisplot
Education Preferred
- B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering
Physical Demands:
-Must be able to view job sites in the field.
-Must be able to climb stairs in an operating unit.
-Must be able to work extended periods of time within ergonomic guidelines on computer (i.e., data entry and processing).
-Must be able to work extended hours when required by the business.
-Ability to work in all weather conditions for various periods of time.
-Job may require 30+% field work in petrochemical facility.
