Safety and Environmental Manager
Job Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina

Description
Statement of Function:
To manage the Safety/Environmental/Security department and provide expertise to the facility in the areas of safety, regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, workers' compensation, environmental protection, security, fire protection, ergonomics and community relations regarding emergency services organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Support and partner with the facility management team in providing a safe and healthy work environment
- Interact with all levels of management, and hourly paid employees
- Analyze data, craft plans, and execute the strategic direction for continuous improvement of the facility safety and response plans
- Manage and develop subordinates
- Act as liaison with the corporate safety & health group being responsive to audits and training programs
- Manage security, fire, and emergency response as delegated for the facility
- Manage the safety programs and training to assure regulatory compliance
- Manage the facility's workers' compensation program if delegated
- Manage the facility environmental control efforts if delegated
- Support the facility ergonomics improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety or related field
- 3-5 years experience in safety or related function in a manufacturing environment
- ASP/CSP or equivalent certifications would be a plus
