Job Description:

Service Technician to repair restaurant equipment including cooking, food preparation, and ware washing equipment. Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing a variety of electric, gas, and steam equipment including but not limited to ovens, stoves, griddles, fryers, broilers, steamers, conveyor ovens, coffee equipment, microwave ovens, soup wells, food warmers, dishwashers, disposals, etc. This work will be done in the field at commercial kitchen facilities including schools, hospitals, colleges, corporate cafeterias, restaurants and correctional facilities. Duties include diagnosing equipment problems and applying the correct repair solutions.

The Service Technician is responsible for completing all paperwork in a neat and orderly fashion, including work orders, equipment caution tags, warranty tags, and preventative maintenance checklists. This person is expected to be professional, have good customer service skills, and maintain a service van, which includes keeping a neat and organized parts inventory. Regular work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, however it is common for the day to begin earlier or end later. Nights and weekend hours are also possible when the Service Technician is on call. Service territory includes Rhode Island, Bristol County Massachusetts, Cape Cod and Groton/New London CT.


Qualifications:
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Alien
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Solid understanding of basic electricity, wiring diagrams, and gas principles
  • 2-4 years service experience in restaurant equipment preferred, or experience with refrigeration, plumbing/heating and electrical repair
  • Good customer service skills and represent the company in a professional manner
  • Own basic hand tools
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good driving record / maintains insurance eligibility
  • Strong desire to learn, be a team player and advance
  • Must be part of a rotating on-call shift for 24/7 service.
  • Willing to participate in training sessions
  • Willing to study to become certified in Electric, Gas and Steam.

Requirements:
  • To be hired as a Service Technician, one must agree to a background check, motor vehicle records check, submit a drug test, and take a short basic electricity and/or gas test

Pay Range:
  • Very competitive within the industry. Based upon previous experience and training
  • Time and one half paid for over 40 work hours per week and/or for over 9.5 hours for any day.

Certification:
