Department Description: ONEOK Partners, operators of the Bear Paw Energy assets in the Gillette, WY area.
Brief Description
Coordinates and performs a basic level of engineering activities in the Gillette, WY area.
Detailed Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Coordinate, assist, and/or perform engineering activities relative to the design, operation, and maintenance of company pipeline and storage systems and related facilities.
2. Assist with project coordination among districts, departments (Marketing, Accounting, Operating, and Customer Services), and contractors including but not limited to:
Bid proposals and contracts
Line extensions
Construction and/or relocation projects
3. Provide technical and/or engineering assistance to management, employees, governmental/regulatory personnel, contractors, customers, and others on matters including but not limited to:
Meter and regulator settings
Equipment/system design
Pipeline sizes
Policies and procedures
4. Review, summarize, and assist in preparation of information including but not limited to:
Engineering studies
Pipeline bid proposals
Construction contracts
Status/activity reports
Job orders
Purchase requisitions
5. Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
6. Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering with previous experience in company rotational program for engineers or other engineering experience.
OR
Equivalent formal education to include a combination of courses such as engineering principles, business law, chemistry, physics, economics, speech, college algebra, statistics, or technical writing, PLUS the following job-related experience:
1. Working knowledge of piping plan standards and related governmental regulations.
2. Application of math, algebraic formulas, calculus, and statistics.
3. Experience in use and function of office equipment including microcomputers and applicable software.
4. Experience and training related to:
Interpersonal/Communication skills
Customer services field policies and procedures
Transmission/distribution pipeline operations
Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
Line extension and relocation policies and procedures
5. Demonstrated ability to identify, research, evaluate, and prioritize problems or specific situations and coordinate appropriate action/response.
6. Demonstrated ability to research and prepare pipeline construction contracts, pipeline capacity lease (PCL) requests, budget projects, job orders, material requisitions, engineering studies, and correspondence.
7. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, charts, surveys, load studies, and various reports and correspondence.
8. Demonstrated ability to interact, negotiate, advise, and communicate effectively.
9. Demonstrated ability to develop information and make presentations to groups and individuals.
10. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSING:
1. Professional Engineer certification. (Specified in Texas)
2. Applicable driver's license. Requires travel to other company offices and facilities and to job sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Mobility to travel in and around plant and office facilities and around job sites out-of-doors.
2. Able to operate tools and equipment required.
COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations.
VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sufficient to perform job duties.
