JOB DESCRIPTION:
Park City Mountain Resort’s Ski and Snowboard Schools Instructor Training Program is a 3 1/2 day process and takes place in two segments. Part one is the Hiring Camp, and part two is the Training Camp. The Hiring Camp and the Training Camp are free of charge. If you are interested in becoming an instructor you should be capable of comfortably snowboarding or skiing on most groomed blue runs and enjoy meeting new people.
The Hiring Camp is an indoor session that will evaluate your ability to provide Ski and guests with a safe, fun and educational lesson experience. The Hiring Camp will be offered November 22 (10:00 am – 1:00 pm), Tuesday, November 25 (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm), Sunday, November 30 (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm), and Thursday, December 4 (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm). At the completion of the Hiring Camp provisional positions are offered to qualified candidates. You must fill out an online application and pre-register with the Ski and to participate in the hiring camp.
Following the three hour Hiring Camp candidates that Park City Mountain Resort would like to hire will be asked to participate in a 3 day Training Camp. During the Training Camp participants will be taught about PCMR’s preferred teaching methods and policies and procedures. The Training camp will be offered December 1, 2, & 3 and December 5, 6, & 7.
Persons who successfully complete the entire Instructor Training Program, and can meet the schools scheduling requirements which range from Full Time to as few as 16 days will teach skiing or snowboarding to beginner level PCMR guests.
