Job Description and Essential Functions

Job Title/Position: Registered Nurse

Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:

  1. Assist provider with in-office surgical procedures
  2. Management of surgical wound care
  3. Manage a nurse visit schedule autonomously
  4. Educate pre- and post-operative patients
  5. Complete all rooming essential duties
  6. Telephone triage
  7. Responsible for all rooming duties
  8. Give patients telephone advice using nursing judgment within the scope of license
    1. Communicate with providers about patient calls received
    2. Triage patients to the appropriate setting if there is a need to be seen
    3. Provide patient education
  9. Report test results to patients and instructs as to the appropriate follow-up
  10. Call in prescription refills as directed
  11. Assist in scheduling patients
  12. Communicate with hospitals and other offices as directed by providers
  13. Perform related work as required/ requested by the supervisor/coordinator

Specialized Responsibilities:

Performance Requirements:

  1. Knowledge of aesthetic and cosmetic services and products
  2. Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care
  3. Call in prescription refills as directed
  4. Assist in scheduling patients
  5. Communicate with hospitals and other offices as directed by providers
  6. Perform related work as required/ requested by the supervisor/coordinator
  7. Knowledge of organizational policies, relations and procedures to administer patient care
  8. Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments and administer patient care
  9. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
  10. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods and techniques of professional nursing to provide on-going patient care
  11. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions
  12. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence
  13. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance
  14. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public
  15. Ability to maintain quality control standards
  16. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  17. Ability to interpret, adapts, and applies guidelines and procedures
  18. Ability to communicate clearly

Education/Experience/Certifications:

  1. RN with current Wisconsin license
  2. Current CPR Certification

Non-Essential Duties: Other duties as assigned within scope of practice

Typical Working Conditions:

The typical working conditions are in a clinical environment dealing with multiple patients in a short period of time. This is a fast paced job that needs to be done with efficiency and precaution. They are susceptible to diseases dealing with patients.

Typical Physical Demands:

  1. Requires a full body range of motion with handling and lifting patients
  2. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time
  3. Occasionally lifts and carries items up to 35-40 lbs. (linens, supplies)
  4. Push and pull patients in wheelchairs occasionally with up to 75 lbs. of force
  5. Requires visual acuity correctable to 20/30 and hearing within normal range and color perception
