Our client has an 18 bed unlocked unit with voluntary and involuntary patients, 4 seclusion rooms, if necessary for inpatients, also provide out-patient services to the community. There are 4 doctors on staff and 2 doctors from the community who admit as well as a psychologist, occupational therapist and social worker.
At times they have acute care patients. Average length of stay is 5 - 6 days, maximum stay cannot exceed 17 days.
Experience: recent professional or affiliate experience in mental health service (preferably inpatient psychiatry); group facilitation; assessment; strong communication skills-oral and written.
Duties: facilitate skill building/psycho-educational groups, milieu management, assessment of function/projection of patient's community support needs, concise documentation, participation in inter-disciplinary treatment team communication. Contributes to discharge coordination though assessment of patient independence, identification of factors contributing to limitations, and development of strategic interventions to alleviate or mitigate. Conducts individual and group treatment sessions
Manages the atmosphere of the unit through therapeutic use of self and environmental factors
- Hours: 5 eight hour shifts Mon-Fri or 4 ten hour shifts
