Acute care hospital located in Southwest Ohio about 25 minutes from Springfield seeks a Certified OCCUPATIONAL Therapy Assistant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
*Checks all equipment for proper functioning and cleans as necessary
*Treats patients according to results of an evaluation completed by the occupational therapist
*Recommends DME and ADL adaptive equipment for all patients
*Submits purchase orders per hospital protocol
*Actively participates in home assessments for patients as necessary
*Maintains written documentation of billing via Daily Activity Record
*Enters, checks and edits billing daily
*Writes weekly progress notes
*Tracks minutes and fills out corresponding paperwork for the MDS personnel
*Travels and assists other COTAs as caseloads warrant
*Communicates with referring physician when necessary
*Participates in all occupational therapy in-services
*Attends all pertinent staff meetings as well as care conferences and interdisciplinary rehab meetings
*Maintains confidentiality of patients' past and present care
*Works cooperatively with the MDS personnel to ensure that patients are put into the appropriate categories for therapies
*Performs all other duties as assigned
0-10 years of COTA experience and must be licensed in Ohio.
