The Product Manager translates market needs into actionable development plans and then to products. Product Managers work in conjunction with Business Unit Leaders to drive visions to reality. This position is responsible for development of business cases, technology product development plans, and product lifecycle management. Qbase Product Managers envision product suite evolution through a series of product launches synchronized with strategic marketing and brand development.
Responsibilities:
* Understand target markets through research on customers, incumbent competitors and products
* Develop detailed product requirements addressing feature/function, ease of use, interface and usability. Communicate and negotiate, as necessary, to achieve consensus on product vision throughout Qbase
* Create and implement product vision, direction, and business plans; including product development & evolution, lifecycle and retirement
* Ensure delivered products exceed customer expectations through realistic measures Address business opportunities through awareness of strategic fit of technology solutions and capability to develop and deploy those solutions
* Assist Business Unit Leaders in development and maintenance of strategic vendor and partner relationships
* Routinely interface with Finance, Sales, Marketing and Development to ensure consistent understanding of product capability and delivery timeframe. Ensure events are synchronized
* Mange product lifecycle, incorporating customer feedback into enhancements and product evolution
* Participate as necessary in tradeshows and strategic customer relationship development
Knowledge and skills:
* In-depth knowledge and practical experience in product development, thorough understanding of product lifecycle management
* Understanding of critical interrelationships among Finance, Sales, Marketing and Development
* Experience creating and documenting requirements from multiple business stake holders
* Strong written and oral communications skills
* Strong presentation skills
Education and work experience:
* Bachelor’s degree minimum; MBA preferred
* 7+ years of experience in technology product development, with emphasis on online/interactive solutions
* Nonprofit emphasis
