The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, is a land grant university with an enrollment of over 18,600. The University of Arkansas is considered the flagship institution in the state university system. The Food, Human Nutrition and Hospitality Program is within the School of Human Environmental Sciences. The School has approximately 700 undergraduate students.

Fayetteville is located in Northwest Arkansas in the scenic Ozark Mountains close to lakes, rivers and national forests. Northwest Arkansas is served by Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport, linking the area to nearby international airports. Major cities located within a day’s drive of Fayetteville include: Dallas-Ft. Worth, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Wichita, Kansas City, Little Rock, Memphis and Shreveport.

Annual Salary:
Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Description:
Assistant Professor, Foods, Human Nutrition and Hospitality: Nine-month, tenure-track, teaching position beginning January, 2009.

Minimum Requirements:
Doctorate and RD required with specialization in food preparation and production preferred. Degree must be in hand by hire date.

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant professional and teaching experience, ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary departments, and strong communication skills.

Job Duties:
Primary responsibility: Teaching undergraduate courses in foods, human nutrition and dietetics with emphasis in food preparation, production, systems management, experimental foods, and other dietetics related courses, as needed. Responsibilities also include student advising, and recruiting, participation on committees, curriculum development, and service to the people in the State of Arkansas.
