Incumbent is responsible for administration of the benefits programs for Washington Regional. He/she acts as liaison among employees and insurance providers. The incumbent gathers and analyzes data necessary to review benefit costs, value, and effectiveness for continued quality and on-going strategic planning. He/she monitors legislative changes and premium and claims expenses to identify trends and recommend changes. He/she is responsible for overseeing an effective benefits communication process including print material and employee meetings. He/she chairs the Benefits Committee responsible for reviewing and evaluating effectiveness of current plans and making recommendations for future benefit offerings. He/she issues and evaluates Requests for Proposal. Other duties include data entry for benefit starts and stops, managing the Childcare Reimbursement and flexible spending programs, as well as coordination of the annual employee benefits fair and open enrollment periods. This position has exposure to chemicals and equipment as normally related to an office environment. The majority of work time is spent sitting (up to 80% of work time) with frequent standing and walking of short distances (up to 20% of time).
AR Drivers License and Auto Liability Insurance, Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (w/in 6 months of hire)
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
This position requires benefits administration experience including employer-sponsored benefit enrollment and eligibility administration, retirement plan administration (including knowledge of 401k, 403b, 457, ERISA, Roth, etc.), as well as common voluntary benefit programs. This position also requires excellent oral and written communication skills as well as a broad base of general human resources knowledge. A bachelors degree in Human Resources (or a related field) is preferred with obtainment of CEBS within 6 months hire into position required. Must be proficient in the operation of standard office equipment, as well as computer software, including Microsoft Office products and mainframe HR/payroll systems, Lawson experience is preferred. Maintain and update benefit plans in Lawson payroll system. Responsible for benefit regulatory reporting and filings (5500, ACA, etc) Ensures regular updates to plan documents and summary plan descriptions. Strong computer and HRIS skills. Lawson, Selerix, Excel and Access experience preferred. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. CEBS or CCP preferred.
