Job Summary:
We are seeking an outstanding individual to fill a key data warehouse developer role. The foundation for long-term vision is sourcing and maintaining the data layer. This position plays a critical role in this plan. The person in this position will participate on project teams enhancing the data warehouse or new development teams adding additional data. Specifically, this position is responsible for the movement of data between application environments on a variety of source systems using SQL Server Integration Services and SQL scripts. This includes: understanding business processes, interpreting technical specifications, developing transformation logic and application code, unit testing, integration testing support, deployment, maintenance of the data, and development process and support. The position reports to the Manager of Enterprise Data and Analytical Services.

On a day to day basis, this position will be responsible for the development and extension of our data warehouse. A successful candidate will:
  • Design and develop a data warehouse supporting both ad-hoc and predefined queries.
  • Have demonstrated proficiency developing technical skills and performing problem solving.
  • Be familiar with data warehousing principles and methodologies.
  • Work with end users through the requirements gathering phases.
  • Model both source and target and map between the two.
  • Develop ETL processes.
  • Be a strong SQL developer.
  • Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, etc.
  • Performance Tuning.
  • Be confident in the analysis and integration of data integration opportunities.
  • Have an ability to think on his/her feet and learn and utilize new technologies quickly.
  • Be a strong communicator in both written and oral form.
  • Monitor and analyze data quality.
  • Have a proven track record of working in team development projects.
  • Have a bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences/MIS or equivalent experience.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have practical experience in the use of all components of Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
  • Business Intelligence Development Studio.
  • Have experience in one or more of these DBMS's.
  • DB/2
  • Ingres
  • Oracle
  • Sybase
  • Have strong skills in Analysis Services 2005.
  • Have good skills in Reporting Services 2005.
  • Have general understanding of the Microsoft analysis and performance management applications.
  • Participate in database design reviews for new feature/product development providing feedback on efficiency, performance, scalability, and storage.
  • Maintain MCDBA certification in SQL Server 2000.
