Introduction
The Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), a national leader in scientific research and development, located midway between Baltimore and Washington, DC is seeking a PeopleSoft System Administrator.
Responsibilities Administer and maintain the APL PeopleSoft environments and provide technical support to the PeopleSoft application development and support teams. Installation, maintenance, configuration, and updating of PeopleSoft HCM 8.9 production and non-production systems, the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture (PIA), Tuxedo Application Server domains, WebLogic Servers and Process Schedulers. Interact with the application developers to understand and support their requirements. Administer and maintain the uptime and stability of PeopleSoft HCM 8.9 production and non-production systems. Apply Tax and patch updates utilizing PeopleSoft Change Assistant and perform migration of development projects to staging and production environments. Work with Oracle DBA, UNIX admin and developers to resolve system issues. Provide Oracle database administration activities related to PeopleSoft environments.
Qualifications Required: B.S. in an Information Technology (IT) or related field or equivalent years of professional IT work experience. At least 5 years of hands-on experience with technical troubleshooting and tuning for all PeopleSoft infrastructure components, including database servers, app servers, web servers, and messaging servers supporting Oracle database Server platforms with PeopleTools 8.46 or higher. Demonstrated understanding and experience in PeopleSoft problem resolution with the ability to determine the correct source of the problem. Demonstrated skills in PeopleSoft environment creation, environment management, and metadata migration. Extensive knowledge in PeopleSoft upgrades, Change Assistant, Data Mover, SQR, Application Designer. Demonstrated skills with Application Messaging, Integration Broker and Component Interface. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM 8.9 functionality. Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment with the ability to interface with all levels of staff. Strong written and presentation skills which will be used to document analysis and to give technical presentations.
Desired: Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Recruiting solutions. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft Security utilizing SSO, LDAP, Active Directory. Working knowledge of PeopleCode. Knowledge of PeopleSoft debugging utilities and processes. Basic UNIX Shell Scripting experience, Solaris experience. Knowledge of Oracle 10g Database Administration, including basic database refresh and restore experience using RMAN. Master¿s degree in Information Technology or related field.
Special Work Conditions Occasional Saturday morning onsite hours required. Participate in a weekly after-hours on-call rotation every 5 weeks.
