Academic Position in Gastrointestinal and Hepatic Pathology

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a fulltime experienced ABP certified/eligible pathologist with a primary interest in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology. Board certification and a minimum of five years of experience in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology is required. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be based on qualifications and experience. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in teaching and in scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements are an M.D or equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Minnesota, board certified or board eligible in AP or AP/CP, completion of an ACGME-accredited pathology residency training program and gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology fellowship or significant experience in gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology.
Sign-out responsibilities, on-call duties, autopsy, resident and fellow supervision, and conferences are shared with other members of the anatomic pathology faculty.
Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidates area of specialty/research expertise with a goal of developing collaborative or independent external funded research.
Preferred candidates will be active in their national organizations and have experience in fostering an academic environment for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology is home to a large number of anatomic and clinical pathology faculty as well as many basic science faculty involved in research, undergraduate and graduate education. The department also has an ACGME approved residency program and five ACGME approved fellowships.
